Welcome To Penrith Golf Club

Hole 1 - 363 yd par 4:
Open start, nice green with trees to left behind.

Open tee shot that is drivable on a good day, quite a hard shot though as trees force you right away from the hole that is tucked in behind those trees. Long thin green hard to play, well protected by the trees.
Hole 3 - 448 yd par 4:
Trees going down the left and plenty of room on the right of the pole to aim for.
Hole 4 - 174 yd par 3:
A Lot of trees both sides on a very narrow par 3. The green in superb backed by views of the Lakeland Fells. It's the opening hole into the next section across the road, where the views all start.
Hole 5 - 475 yd par 4:
Wonderful backdrop of the Lake District, going up a hill and straight. Not too much danger, there is rough either side but nothing too problematic, wall on left and some fairway bunkers either side. Two tier green, bunkers either side and a couple of grass bunkers catching your approach to the hole. A long and hard hole to par hence stroke index 1.
Hole 6 - 408 yd par 4:
A downhill par 4 with some trees to the left. Open tee shot rough to the right, very open otherwise and a fantastic view down over the lakes, not too demanding. On a clear day the views of the Lake District are very much a feature of this part of the course. Plenty of bunkers protecting the green.
Hole 7 - 374 yd par 4:
Going back up and gradually working your way to the back of this section of the course. It starts with a dog leg left from a blind tee shot. There is a couple of grass bunkers and more sand traps protecting the two tier green.
Hole 8 - 362 yd par 4:
Take a walk up to the highest part of the course up a hill and a superb view and tee shot. Bunkers going down the right. Nice green protected by sand traps all around. Green slopes right up the back, a very interesting hole.
Hole 9 - 213 yd par 3:
Downhill par three, quite long but a superb view behind. Green protected by bunkers and a beautiful green.
Hole 10 - 105 yd par 3:
Short par 3, but quite strategic. You can't afford to go short on the hole, because of the steep bunkers and slightly raised green with a drop down behind. The stroke index 18 accounts for the fact it is short and has a good sized green that any golfer should be able to land on from the tee.

Hole 11 -
332 yd par 4:
Steep downhill par 4 over a marker. Great open tee shot for big hitters wanting a lash and a good place to let one go as the hill adds yards to any tee shot. As you stand on the tee you'll see a big grass bunker to the right, behind which is a steep quarry bank.
Hole 12 - 365 yd par 4:
All up hill, up over a quarry and after you get over that there's plenty of space. Not an easy hole and you pay for the long walk down hill by climbing back up. Nice green protected by bunkers.
Hole 13 - 385 yd par 4:
Come back across the road. Dog leg left with a wall following you. The wall cuts in tight to the green leaving a hard approach.
Hole 14 - 155 yd par 3:
Through bracken. It is not a long hole but the presence of heather and gorse either side of the green makes it a little more daunting. Interesting and picturesque.
Hole 15 - 495 yd par 5:
More heather and trees on the right. Dog legs slightly left. Big bunkers to the right of the green.
Hole 16 - 183 yd par 3:
Long par 3 and a lot of open ground to clear first, with trees down both sides and bunkers all around the green.
Hole 17 - 397 yd par 4:
Bell hole with trees down both sides. Dog leg right to a picturesque green tucked into a corner.

Hole 18 -
477 yd par 5:
Good hole to finish on taking you back to the clubhouse. There's a wall down the right with out of bounds on the other side of it and  trees on both sides. The fairway is quite open with two fairway bunkers just short of the big green.
